Apr 07, 2007According to Alldatapro, (to the best of my interpretations) the block drain plug is located on the driver side of the engine, straight below the spark plug for cylinder 3. The freeze plug, seems to be located straight below cylinder number 1, and also another one, between 3 and 5. How to Remove the Radiator Drain Plug in a 2001 Dodge Ram
The radiator drain plug on the 2001 Dodge Ram keeps the coolant inside the radiator. The drain plug also allows the radiator to be serviced by draining the coolant. Engine coolant is designed to last only so many miles or so many years before it will have to be changed. Dodge recommends performing the initial coolant change on the 2001 Dodge Ram at 52,000 miles and every 30,000 miles after that.
How to Flush Your Dodge Ram's Radiator | Dodgeforum
Locate the radiator's drain valve on the bottom of the radiator. You don't need to raise the Dodge Ram since it's a high truck with enough room for this job. Place a tray underneath the drain plug.
How do I Replace the Radiator Drain Plug in a Dodge
The radiator drain plug, also known as a petcock, on the Dodge Caravan has a small rubber gasket between the exterior portion of the plug and the mating connection of the radiator. Over time, the rubber gasket can weaken and cause the plug to leak. Replacing the drain plug is fairly inexpensive and a relatively simple task to perform, although it can be a bit messy.
